Meditub is the largest walk-in tub manufacturer in the United States. They pride themselves on their quality standards and their ability to meet all regulatory requirements that a lot of other walk-in bathtub companies fail to meet.
Meditub bathtubs are specialized to accommodate all the needs for the elderly, handicapped, and the disabled. Because of the extensive accommodation there are a lot of features included in the Meditub products:
Conveniently placed safety grab bars
Extendable shower head
3 speed massage jets for self cleaning and comfort
Drainage system that empties tub under 1 minute
Built in bathtub pillow for extra comfort
Essential oils filter
All of these features are optional depending on what your needs are as a customer and what all you want to pay for.
Acrylic Vs. Fiberglass
Meditub comes in two main materials; acrylic and fiberglass. There are benefits to both materials.
Fiberglass is cheap, comes in different colors, and is typically less weight than the acrylic.
Acrylic is a bit more expensive because it’s not as easily mass produced as fiberglass is. It also comes in different colors but is a little more weight than fiberglass and you will more than likely need a little more help. In the end it all depends on what bathtub looks good for you.
The two main therapeutic features that can be installed in your bathtub are aromatherapy and chromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is the use of scent to calm and distress yourself. A lot of therapists and a couple of doctors even claim that it prevents and even cures some diseases.
Chromatherapy is the use of lights that help to distress the body and to keep the vibrations of the body in frequency. Arguably, it helps with a person’s health, overall welfare, and piece of mind. Different colors used are for different symptoms and specific frequency vibrations.
For the bathtub shell there is a 10 year warranty for the original buyer. This only qualifies for manufacturing errors and not damaged caused by excessive use or faded finish and what not. There’s a 1 year warranty on electrical components that only applies for defects and malfunctions.
Meditub also covers expenses for labor and repair services within the first 90 days after ordering your tub. Extension kits are also available with the majority of their tubs. These block out the areas between the tub and the wall which also provides extra shelving.
